Did you want the smallest cheap bag. The Canon backpack

and sometimes, it goes on sale. But if I were you, I'd consider the Domke F-5XB or F-5XC. I have both of these and they are perfect for my minimal gear.

finding the perfect bag is 100x more difficult than choosing the right camera. go out and play with bags in the stores before you make a purchase (when possible).

go on youtube and look for video reviews from real world photographers and enthusiasts.

google reviews and obviously check the main thread here, there are 100 reviews with tons of pics.

naturally! but don't make a quick purchase. borrow something until you find the right one for you, or you'll be buying another in 3 weeks.

Yeah, because I just pulled the trigger on a Zing pro body zoom lens cover for when I want to take my camera into a backpack or purse that isn't meant for it. That would make my bag total to 18 with the purchase of the new Lowepro Passport that is on backorder at Amazon. Bags just keep on coming and I use all of them.

I am definitely not a super pro. I have the camera and kit lens currently. That's it.

I know I will buy more bags. But a a beginner I can see this Canon being a good starter bag for me. If I need more later I will just get more :) I picked up a SanDisk Extreme III 8gb while I was on Amazon also. From everything I read Canons love the SanDisk Extreme III's and up.

I priced the Domke's and they were out of my budget at this time. I went with what I could afford for the next few months. Right now its just to keep it safe in my house and I wont be going anywhere that it can be stolen. I've gotten some great suggestions here and will keep them in mind when I get bag #2 on the way to bag #18 like Suzy.
