I asked my friend if she would be willing to kinda model for me. I was going for the traditional "senior" picture's look. Nothing fancy as i'm just now starting to photograph people. Here are three of them..more to come :)

uh oh, I will get it out of the way for everyone else. The legs/shoes are growing out of the head. Now we don't need any other comments on that :D

The second one seems darker than the other two. The flash fired I think. I think i see catch light from a bare flash. Was a flashed fired for all three? Was it ETTL ?

I really like the BG. Good choice on the location :D

haha..yeah i didn't even think about the shoes/head thing until i reviewed them on my computer. lol thanks for the comment though. i'm not exactly sure why the second is darker. i will have to go back and look at my settings that i used. flash was fired for all of these. And as i'm a beginner using flash, what does ETTL mean or stand for? ha

ETTL is the automatic flash where it sets the flash settings for you. The first two look good to me. They do not have any harsh shadows, looks like it filled in nicely.

- From the other flash noob :D

5 min in photoshop and the second one is saved. unsharpen mask, adjust the levels and clone out the feet, maybe dodge the eyes alittle bit.

oh haha gotcha. all i did for the flash was take some test shots and then lowered the flash exposure compensation on the camera because the flash was too harsh on her skin making it have gross highlights. thanks for the info though!

Learn to get it right when you shoot. PP saves by others don't look good to me. Wish the exif was present, they look kind of soft particularly the 2nd one.

Might be because I used photobucket to upload them. The originals are pretty sharp :)
