Hey, I've had this website running for a while now, I was looking for some input though. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, can someone tell me if the GoogleAds are working or not? I can't seem to see them on my browser, and if they are working, would you mind clicking a few :p

Finish it. You have no content at all. I want to know about you. What do you do? Where are you located?

BTW, I don't see any ads. I hope you're not adding ads on your website. I big turn-off for me. That's why I use AdBlock with Firefox.

That's probably why you don't see any ads, because you're using AdBlock lol.

And this website is more for personal, I'm not really advertising my services or anything. Well, not yet at least. I suppose I'll finish the about me page sometime soon haha

I don't see any ads on FF but I have AdBlock enabled. On IE, Chrome, and Safari I do see the ads. Ads are terrible, take them off. If I see ads on someone's portfolio website I'd quickly close the site.

Other than that, I quite like the site, the layout is simple but perhaps finishing the "About" section is a good idea. Moving "Project" to the top might be wise too.

Had a look at your site HTML and first you have no meta taging and put something about you on as well with key words on every page. at the moment you are no 5 on Google under m gates photo and thats it. Put yourself on google maps, yahoo, bing, and every other search engine you can find and that is how you will be found. Me personally I cannot stand google ads as they will only work if you are having alot of hits. good luck with your site.

So, you paying for GoogleAds and your website is more of a personal site? Doesn't make sense to me. If you want to be found in Google, read my SEO link in my sig....

^^^^^ agreed... No meta tags, Google Ads, no content, frames content... It all says "Do it yourself website"... Let a professional help you, or at least use the tools that are available to you from your hosting company.

I'll probably just remove the ads from the top, and leave them on the bottom. Less obtrusive. Finishing the About section is my next priority.

Great suggestions, I'll add some meta keywords on each page, also change the title to each page too.

Google Ads are free, actually. I'm doing Adsense, not Adwords. Will take a look at your sig. Thanks :)

So basically it's just not a professional website because I'm not using the search and internet market techniques? How about the layout? I know it's simple but it looks good doesn't it? Or the way the photos open?

Thanks! I got tired of typing the same thing day after day on this board (and others) so, that's why I wrote the article. I'm not a pro SEO or even a good author, but hopefully it will help some folks!

The layout is okay. Most of the pictures look more like family snapshots, which is okay, since you said this is a personal website.

I've taken your suggestions and added the meta data. It's only on the home page at the moment, but will update the rest of the pages in a quick minute.

i wouldn't be asking people specifically to click on the ads. Its against their TOS and as soon as you hit that $100 mark (or possibly less since most of the clicks will be coming from a specific referring link), your account will be cut off and you won't get paid.

I started google ads about 4 years ago and the best i did was make about $50 in 1 month and averaged about $30 a month.

anyways, i think it will be hard to make money this way. You want to give some content on your site with ads and make people want to come back or at the least want to stay on the site for more than 10 seconds.
