My first B&W conversion with CS5. How did it turn out? The young girl in the image is the daughter of a friend of mine, waiting to do a dance for a 25th wedding anniversary party.

Aloha,
Ron

You can't tell it in the BW conversion, but her eyes pull in the surrounding colors.

I agree, they eyes do it for me as well. Here is the color version. I really like how her eyes pull in the green from the hat.

Burn just a little bit with a pretty large, soft brush at a low exposure, the skin to the left of the eye on the left eye (left from the viewer's perspective). You lose all definition there.

I think it is a great conversion.

Thanks for your comments. At times, I find B&W conversion rather difficult. I still do not have a set method and everytime I do it, it seems to come out different.

Aloha,
Ron

Cute young lady and I do like the B+W. The image seems just a tad soft. I suspect it could be an upload issue. However, you might want to go back to check the original. Nice work!

Yes I noticed that as well and the original is quite a bit sharper. Thanks for the comment.
