^ Thought I could save some money, now that I am not doing nearly as much paid work as I used to.

I do think that the Sigma is an awesome lens, I only really upgraded because I got a Canon at a really good price.

Ok, I just got my third copy of this lens (this time, from B & H) delivered. The first two had the same issue with OS not working properly. This one seems perfect.

Initial impression: looks pretty sharp wide open. And it’s black. I recently sold my Canon 70-200 II and replaced it with this. It’s not as good as the Canon version, I know that, i.e., sharpness, contrast, AF, and OS. But all of those are very, very, good here.

I think I am going to keep this. And the $$$$. :D

I just got mine back yesterday from Mack, who had forwarded it to Sigma for repair. It had a faulty zoom GMR sensor which was causing some AF problems. Got it back with a new set of caps as well as my old ones and all is well!

I did notice that I believe they rubbed off some of the paint off of the AF/MF switch, but that's minor. Other than that, everything is good! Excited to have it back!

Just got this lens the other day, haven't had time to shoot much with it yet. I like it a lot. 60D + 147mm at f/2.8 ISO400.

You have two posts and both are photos with out-of-focus subjects. On this one, I can see that the shingles in front of the squirrel are sharper. Maybe change your camera's focus point settings.

I really must push this wide open on the 5d3 to see what I can get out of it...

I think it could be pretty good. f/2.8 on my 5DII is way better than on my 50D.

I think I am still going to play around with mine a bit more before deciding to keep it.

Here are a few with the Sigma 1.4x TC wide open taken as straight jpeg instead of RAW . The first two are also about 60% crops.
