It seems the gentleman (Panopeeper aka Gabor) has passed away. Did anyone know him personally?

I can't believe this didn't get any answers.

Gabor was a great teacher to me and a great friend. He was enormously talented and had the mind of a genius. Best of all he was humble to answer all the emails and questions anyone sent to him, no matter how silly the question was. He was a great guy, funny, curious and friendly.

He contributed RAW Analyze, probably the only software that can analyze a RAW file without any processing at all, a very helpful tool to learn how the camera sensor works and many other things.

He created really beautiful panoramas, with a level of perfection that is hard to match, his images were just fantastic.

All his posts here in DpReview and the LuminousLandscapes Forums are full of valuable information, you can read them by looking at his profile and you will learn a lot.

He will be missed.
Rest in Peace my Friend.

Luis
