Bit of Aurora tonight

I went out to watch the Persieds. They were far and few between.. I was only seeing about one every five minutes.. I did see a bit of a green glow on the north horizon so I went in and grabbed the camera...

I managed to capture a few a little meteor streaks too

Thx for the Aurora shot, was sorta sad they did not come all the way down to SE Michigan earlier.
I see your shot is 11 sec exposure, to your naked eye is the green that intense or duller?

The 11 second exposure 'brightened them up' quite a bit...

I live in the country where it's very dark at night.. At first glance it appeared that there was just a streak of cloud above the north horizon. I had to look closer to see the structure and the green tint. I doubt the lights would have been visible in a lit up town or city.

That's interesting to get a comparison between the photograph and what you see.
Would it be similar in brightness to the Milky Way ?
