Yes the 70-200L MKII came out early this year.

No one knows which lens will be coming out next.

Isn't there some event in October when new gear is sometimes announced?

Hopefully they have a new 400mm prime in the works? Maybe a 400mm f/5.6L IS? How about a new 100-400mm f/4.0L IS non-pump lens? Maybe a new 200-500mm lens for us people that can't afford a $6,500 prime?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

You do realize that anybody who cannot afford a $6500 prime would not be able to afford a 100-400/4 zoom, right?

Well they would if it was in the $3,000 range.

I'd be happy if Canon would deliver a 400/4 prime lens in that price range. A zoom lens? Take a look at the Nikon 200-400 f/4 for an idea of the size, weight and price that we could expect for such a beast.

I would love to see any of the following:

Zooms

14-24 f/2.8L
24-70 f.2.8L Mk.II (but not IS. ooooh, burn.)
200-400 f/4L IS

Primes

28 f/1.8 Mk.II
35 f/1.8
85 f/1.8 Mk.II
135 f/1.4L :-)

Man I'd rearrange my bag in a second for a few of these. Newer optics for the 24-70 on par with the new 70-200 would be sweet. Even more so if it had an internal zoom like the 70-200L lenses and the 17-40.

And holy crap 135 f/1.4L. What would something like that cost anyway?

Saturnalia for all you have.
