IMO 24-70 is less in need of an update than 100-400... also, if they could extend it to 24-85, it'd be a far more useful standard zoom for full frame.

Canon will probably announce lenses at Photokina next month.

I would think it would go the other way though. more like an 18-70mm f/2.8 IS

Hopefully they have a new 400mm prime in the works? Maybe a 400mm f/5.6L IS? How about a new 100-400mm f/4.0L IS non-pump lens? Maybe a new 200-500mm lens for us people that can't afford a $6,500 prime?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Thats my wish. 400mm is just not long enough at times and I'm not a fan of Sigma and can't afford the current 500mm Canon puts out.

A nice 200-500 f/5.6 IS would be perfect.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I'd like to see a 14-24 2.8L or the 24-70 MkII. Also a 200-400 4L IS sounds nice. We'll just have to wait and see!

I'd much prefer a 24-105 2.8 IS over a 24-70. But I'd take either if they are as sharp as the new 70-200 II.

I just heard it's going to be a 14-500 f1.4 IS zoom, with the lens body constructed from unobtanium for lightness and strength. Price target is $49.00US. Should be available for the holiday season in 2110. I've already pre-ordered one from the National Enquirer! All I have to do now is wait for delivery!

I'd be happy with the following.
1. A 50mm that is sharp/contrasty wide open, smooth bokeh and doesn't have any focus shift issues.
2. A 14-24 that's as good as the Nikon.

If it's like the Nikon 200-400 lens it will probably cost more then $6500

I know this is the Lens Forum, but I'm more excited about the possibility of a new flagship Speedlite.

they're saying a 35mm f1.8...

I really hope this is the case. Either EF or EF-S, it doesnt matter to me. Just have nice build quality, optical quality, and ring USM. I'd happily pay 500 bucks for a nice 35mm lens. If not, I'll probably get the Tammy 17-50 2.8... :)
