Anyone heard anything new on this bad boy?

I really wished it would come out in time for my European trip, especially for night shooting. I think this lens would be a blast to use as a walk-around on my 7D for Amsterdam @ night.

It's not out yet to my knowledge, I've been waiting with baited breath since its initial rumor and then announcement last year.

77mm filter. Seems quite large. 1 aspherical and 2 high-refraction glass elements is promising. This lens will be good *drool*

Also, there's a video over at samyang.pl which is taken with samyang lenses. The video clearly shows that T/S lenses(obvious effects) and anamorphic lenses were used(stretched bokeh). WE LIVE IN EXCITING TIMES! :D

EDIT: here's the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com …M&feature=player_embedded (external link)

Well...strong competitions in the 35mm group. This can only be good. Can't wait to see this and the new Distagon from Zeiss.

/starting to save up..

Unless I've missed something, that still doesn't clear up whether it will be f/1.4 or f/1.2 :(

From what I've read it seems that it'll be 1.2 for us (canon) and 1.4 for everyone else because their lens mounts are too small for 1.2...

I would like to see some 1.2 shots from that. Can it be better then the 35L? I don't think so, but it'll be cheaper!

Canon should revise the 35L and make it 1.2.

I love my 35L. Making it 1.2 would be great
