Autofocus on lenses wider than 50 is very nice to have.

It's still an interesting looking lens.

From what I've read it seems that it'll be 1.2 for us (canon) and 1.4 for everyone else because their lens mounts are too small for 1.2...

LensTip.com: There are rumors, that the next lens released will be 35mm f/1.2 or 35 mm f/1.4. Could you tell us about it?
Mr. Lee: 35 mm f/1.4 will be released in the second half of 2010.

so i guess only a 1.4

Canon should revise the 35L and make it 1.2.

I love my 35L. Making it 1.2 would be great

I don't miss 1.2 on my 35L. I rather have a good 1.4 lens then a average 1.2 lens..

For something like a 28/2.8, it's a non-issue the vast majority of the time.

But a 35/1.2?

The f/1.2 was only a rumour with no basis. It was always supposed to be a f/1.4

I would like to see some 1.2 shots from that. Can it be better then the 35L? I don't think so, but it'll be cheaper!

Look at the Samyang 14mm and 85mm.

It may very well be both better and cheaper ;)

Is it manual aperture control, too? I'm not seeing info on it.

You can see the ring on the lens itself.

It's automatic for at least Pentax and maybe(?) Nikon. Canon has only electronic aperture control, so we don't get auto-aperture.

Available for sale since February 2011.

It says "Samyang 35 mm F1.4 AS UMC was constructed to fit most popular reflexive cameras with small sensors." Does that mean it will not perform as good on FF body?
