They both look very soft and not sharp at all. It's actually kinda hard to look at them because of the blurry effect.

In the first the bird doesn't work for me. Either feature it prominently in the photo or remove it because right now it's a distraction from a landscape shot. Just wasn't implemented well that's all.

In the second I don't like how the house is in the centre of the frame, literally, but the tree is offset. I think it would have been better to have them both offset from centre.

I like the composition and lighting of the first...its the strongest of the two images, just a shame that it isn't sharp (could be a candidate for an Orton effect...usually helps out OOF images with a surreal look). Not sure if the sharpness issue is a flaw in the image or if the jpeg compression contributed. But I agree about the egret...it doesn't add anything to this shot, so it'd be best to lose it. I'd also re-think the digital frame...

What time of year were these taken? Shot from a boat? I've been meaning to get out to Caddo for some time, just can't seem to find a free moment. I tried a before-after shot using the Orton effect...if you'd like to see it, let me know and I'll post it up.

The frames are killing me. I can't bring myself to see the lovely shots because it's just so distracting. Sorry, just my opinion.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.
