Wow, what a night! Sorry to the EST guys about missing the peak. As I said in an earlier thread, the Persieds appeared to peak around 3 - 4 AM PST. I was lucky to get great seeing conditions, clear skies and above freezing at Sunrise Point, Mt Rainier National Park. I set up my cameras - one pointed NE and the other pointed S and my Mead ETX in between at dusk.

Grand Finale - In my timelapse there are a ton of these streaking all over the place.

@powerslave: I just looked at your work on flickr and was like - I need to sell my gear too.

We are our harshest critic. :D

Thanks for all the comments. My wife was a real trooper taking care of 4 little ones all through out the night while I futzed with everything. Can't wait till I get the time lapse all together. Gotta take it slow though.

Great shots! Heh, I was up on Mt. Hood in Oregon for the showers, and I got a picture very similar to your second one - the Milky Way and a meteor almost the same size and location as yours - pretty wild. I'm still traveling with my laptop right now, but I'll have it processed and posted on Sunday or so... its almost eerie how similar they are.

Looking forward to seeing them. PACNORWEST had great weather (for once) for astronomical viewing and imaging.

@risingwolf - I was taking a time lapse so I was in sraw, 25s, 3200iso, 24mm, f/2.8 - Camera was in manual and my remote was locked down.
