I took my daughter to the park the other day to get some shots of her playing. After a while, she got upset that I was taking pictures instead of playing with her. She said "Daddy, play with me" in a sad tone and sat on the swing. I took this last photo, then the camera went back in the bag. I felt so bad... I thought the black and white would help to set the sad mood of the photo. Comments and additional processing welcome.

Thanks!
- Tom

I know that feeling well.... I miss alot of good photo ops because I would rather play with my grandson than anything.... but I get plenty of pictures too :):)

Nice photograph...you can feel the moment with her head hung like that.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Beautiful shot. The B&W captured the mood very well. In 10 yeas she will appreciate this picture, maybe not now. I like the composition of the picture.

Great shot
I also know what you mean, I get told off a lot for bringing the camera everywhere we go!

I took my daughter to the park the other day to get some shots of her playing

A sign of a dedicated photographer!

Maybe we should make an effort to leave the camera behind sometimes as well though :(

Thank you all for the comments!

Yes, we should... It's tough something because you don't want to miss those precious moments. But what I have learned is that every moment I spend with my daughter IS a precious moment, so there is no way I'm going to capture it all with my camera! :D

One other thing about the photo:
How is the contrast, brightness, etc... I processed this image on my laptop, and I know the contrast on my laptop screen changes when my angle of view changes. I'm working on getting an external monitor for processing images, but for now, I have to live with the laptop LCD.

Thanks everyone!

I just adore this picture.

The contrast and brightness looks good to me IMO. But I know there will be different opinions on it.

Wow, amazing shot. What type of post processing did you do becuase everytime I try ISO 400 i get really grainy shots.

The only post processing that I did was I converted the image to grayscale, and adjusted the contrast a little.
