i think this is an osprey... saw him perched up on a tree and started to fly circles immediately...

i guess i could have done a better job at framing this shot... but damn, i was tired, jet-lagged, and still in awe of this amazing bird...

Osprey back on the tree, looking for another fish to jump on...

sadly, the Osprey did dive at the pond, but dumb me, was checking my settings (must remember to have it taken care of before reaching the pond...) i think i shot all this at one-shot AF... and was kicking myself for not setting it before i hit the pond...

anywhoo, back at the duckweed pond, i got a nice shot of the GBH again... i think he knows me by now... i was able to get closer...

damn... i'm so tired... but damn... this is so fun... i am jumping up and down in my seats as i filter through my many blurry pics... but what an experience...

Nice series, I've never taken a shot of one, although I've seen them in tall trees. Lucky you!

Hey, I shot a squirel yesterday and my results were not nearly as good as yours. But I too was excited when I started to play around with it in PS CS5. So I know how you feel. Nice job.

thank you very much...

for someone growing up in the city most of my life, i never imagined that i can see such beautiful birds so close to my home...

seriously, this is just my local nature center not 5 minutes from my house...

Congrats on the osprey - nice captures. They are amazing birds to watch - and big!

I think the images are generally a bit dark. I checked the histogram on a couple and the white point was a bit to the left. You've also got a dark BG which isn't helping you get any separation. Still real nice shots.
