Does the camera take good macro shots?:cry:



Canon 60D with the 18 to 200mm lens. Canon G11 and 430EX II flash.

Check out the G11 Photos thread. about half the pics in there are macro shots and a lot of them look really good.

I use it in product photography in tandem with my 5DII. Working distance is more difficult to get light on the subject but you can focus down to a few mm. Excellent IQ in the macro environment.

It takes fantastic Macro shots and is probably one of the strongest features on the G11. You can move the camera ridiculously close to the subject. To get the best Macro shot I recommend you get a small tripod and use Manual Focus with the 2 second trigger timer. When you press MF you get a zoomed little window which you can then dial the focus perfectly. This is very similar to Live View on the 40D and allows you to get some pretty darn good macros.
