5D + 85mm f/1.8 on these. Started out at around f/4 and was soon at f/2 and pretty high ISO as we ran out of any daylight help. Exposures were all over the map with lightshow.
The band is called "Jersey" a Bruce Springsteen Tribute band. Close you eyes and the front guy is a total dead ringer for Bruce's voice. Band was fantastic, (I guess, if you're a Springsteen fan!) the crowd ate it up, the weather was perfect and getting the pics was like shooting fish in a barrel. Happy with the way these turned out for a first attempt at anything like this:
1) Starting off slowly
2. Mi-Ami Steve (Joe)
3. The white Clarence Clemens ... stole the show using all Clarence's signature saxe licks
4. Every band needs a drummer / cardiologist!
5. I liked the way this one turned out ...
6. Every band needs a mandolin player / attorney
7. Wanted some crowd in this shot, but just too dark in audience area by this time. Still thought it made an interesting shot
8. Lighting it up on Rosalita ...
Great summertime fun. Now, it's off to play MY gig tonight. Jersey, all friends of mine, are on their way to somewhere in NY to play another show tonight. Man, we're all getting to friggin' OLD for this stuff!
