here's my situation, I FINALLY have a tripod and ready to try a sunrise at cape may, except, I have 2 bodies, the IIn and the 30 D (1.3 and a crop).

Both are suffering from dust bunnies, and I have been rather neglectful about sensor cleaning, due to fright. I wanted to take the bodies to canon for sensor cleaning, but had no time (I am close enough to canon NJ for a personal trip, but not that close and had many problems with freeing up enough time for the drive down to Jamesburg). So now I have to clean them myself for the first time ever, and I am really nervous. I have the pec pads by photographic solutions.

I'm thinking about doing the 30D first, only because if I mess up, well - it's a crop camera and replaceable and those bodies come and go. The IIn is tremendously harder for me to replace.

So for landscapes, is that crop factor a big difference for what I am wanting to do? Is taking the 30d enough? I do have a 16-35 II, but of course, can't be used on the 30d........if the 16-35 is going to be reallllllly critical for a sunrise at the beach, I guess I have to deal with the dust on the IIn, but would prefer not to have to do it........I know I have to learn it sooner or later, but it doesn't take away this huge fear of really messing up the camera..........

what do you guys think?

Quit stressing unnecessarily...cleaning a sensor is pretty much a simple task. Just make sure that your battery is fully charged before doing so, and simply follow the cleaning instructions. It'll be over before you know it.

maybe you are right, I just did the 30 d. I am posting a sky shot taken at a high aperture of 16. Do you see any dust bunnies? If I did well, maybe I should clean the 11N............

opps I meant to say small aperture, sometimes my fingers type faster than my brain.
