If the G6 lens and viewfinder are not connected How does it...

How does the Viewfinder zoom along with the lens, I read that where the G6 is not a view throught the lens that you cut off some of the photo, It looks as if the viewfinder zooms with the lens they are connected,

I'm sure they are geared together somehow. Don't know if it's mechanical or electrical.

They are geared together, but you don't really look through the lens.

For very close pictures, this may result in a slight difference. This is known as parallax problem. If it poses a problem, simply use the rear display as viewfinder.
