*** Sorry, missed one "L" at the topic... :(

Hi guys,
I just got an offer to sell my 5D Mk II, 24-105, 17-40 and 135 (14k Clicks and lenses like new).

I got the price of 5000$ for all (Including the grip and extra battery).

Would you guys sell it all and buy the EOD 1D Mark IV together with a 24-70 f/2.8 ?

Please consider the fact that I am not a pro photographer but only an amature taking pictures of my kids.

Your suggestion are welcome, especially for those who own these both cameras.

*** Please take to considiration the fact that I am buying my gear at Hong-Kong and living in Israel, so I will have to add the shipping costs and the VAT (around 250$ shipping + 16% VAT)

Thank you so much.

No. No way. Why would you want to sacrifice some great lenses to upgrade an excellent body? The IQ on the 5DII is fabulous and unless you intend on shooting high speed sports the speed of the IV will never be used. For your uses as described I would not make that trade. Not everybody needs or can even make use of the advantages of a 1D body. Sure they are great but do you plan on using it in extreme conditions?

No! I have the 1d MK iv and it''s an excellent camera but I wouldn't have thought it would offer much over your 5d mk II for your uses. I have not used the 24 - 70 f2.8 but I have read a number of comments/comparisons where the 24-105 f4 is preferred. No doubt that will start a few comments!
From my personal point of view I like my 24-105 very much and have never bemoaned the f4 aperture. As for the 17-40, was offered a very good trade for it against a 16-35 f2.8 mkII - tried the 16-35 - no thanks not that impressed. I find these two lenses give me what I want at their respective focal lengths.
Try the 1d mkIV it's a cracking camera - but (in different ways) so is the 5d mkII

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

As great of an offer as that is, I would have to say for your needs, stick with your current setup. You got FF already and an awesome lens kit.

No, not for the crop frame 1D. Now if you had suggested the 1Ds, then that might be a different matter.

Thank you so much guys!

Your suggestions helped me made up my mind. I will not sell the 5D mk II. (But I will add the 7D for the frame rate that is missing....)

Thank you so much!
