I think if it is reaching end of sales life then they would have to discount them even more which would mean more available on CLP.

Yes... It's true.. I just called both 800 numbers for Canon direct sales and the 5d mk ii is NO longer in the CLP program.

You can, however, buy it refurbished without the 20% CLP trade in...

Unfortunately, I'm not going to do so and will go back to my original plan which is to just get 5d classic...

Nikon D4, Sony RX10, Sony RX100.
Past Gear: (most recently) 5D3, L's, etc.

been there.

sorry i was still under the impression if the refurb store has it then it's CLPable.

some do some don't. call more to see if you get lucky. their inconsistency has been well documented.

if you get all shut out then too bad so sad. call in a few days.

5D3 and a few lens

I'd give it a week before calling about the 5DII. That's about how long it was the last time they yanked it from the CLP, and then even after a week many reps still weren't up to speed these were back in the program again.

Once you see someone is able to buy the 5DII call and say "my friend just bought one today, can you double check?". That's what I did (took two phone calls) and they ended up processing order on the 7D back at that time when they yanked and then reentered 7D & 5DII in the CLP.

Once I get my bonus from work, which should be in a couple of weeks, I'll be calling in and seeing if they'll take my old A2 film camera. Looking to get the 5D Mark II if it's available, or the 7D. Can't wait.
If the discounts good enough, I may even consider trading in my T1i....

you won't get any more of a discount if you trade in a higher grade camera if that's your intent with your comment above.

trade in your broken P&S digital or film camera, and sell the T1i.

Are the AF points on the 5D mark II supposed to light up completely red? On the bottom AF points of my refurb 5D mark II, the bottom corners of the AF points appear black, as if they aren't fully illuminated red.

I don't know if this has been stated previously but I called canon today and they said the 7d is 1086 and they still don't know if the 5d mark II will be available soon or not. By the way the have super nice customer service people.

do you think canon would take multiple types of payment? I have a lot of these rebate visa cards that all equal up to a 7d.

I'm in the same boat....got me a VISA gift card that needs to be spent but it will only cover part of the cost.
