They must have stopped the extra discount they were giving. When they first brought out the 5D II, people were paying $1679 plus taxes.

When I bought mine, it was $1599 plus taxes.

What do you think the likelihood is it will drop back down? Do you think it would happen before the holidays?

the extra discount may have just been a limited time thing. when I first came to this thread, I believe the prices were what they are now for the 7D.

When I first called about the 5D II, they quoted me $1,679 plus taxes. a few days later when I finally bit the bullet and bought the camera body, my total was $1,679. when I got the invoice, I saw where the camera was $1,599 plus ($80 tax). Well, in actuality, the camera was $,1574 since it there was a $25 shipping charge for FedEx 2 day delivery.

I would have figured if they were going to have special pricing for the holidays, they would have just kept the marked down pricing....unless they want the original prices to sink in for a bit so when they have the discount again, it will look like a holiday sale.

Somehow this seems unlikely... the CLP is supposed to be 20% under the refurb price on the canon site. The 7d is still showing $1400 - $40 promotional discount. Unless they've changed their formula, that would make it $1120 - $40 + tax. I think you've simply been misinformed.

Any additional confirmation?

I hope it hasent changed, I am calling in the morning to order one. I might rethink it if they have raised the price.

I think their cut-off is noon for orders that ship same day. if you ordered it before noon, you should get an email notification sometime this evening that it shipped. if so, you'll have it in your hands on Wednesday.

Just called 3 times in a row and got the same answer. It's no longer $1087 + tax.. The price is now the higher price $1199 + tax where applicable. Canon reps said they are given a price off of a list for CLP.

The 5d mk ii is still not being offered in the program either...

I should have struck while the iron was hot... I'm going to wait for the 5d mkii to be back on the program, if not, I'll just by one here from a member,

Nikon D4, Sony RX10, Sony RX100.

wow.. I guess I sneaked in under the wire and got mine last week for $1087.

It will probably come back down again, but hard to say exactly when.

I just called too and can confirm the 7D is $1199 + tax. 5DII isn't offered anymore is what i'm told.

I'll be picking up a 5DII locally tomorrow, enough of this calling and waiting. :D
