How are they getting the $1199? Are they not giving you as big of a CLP discount? They are selling the camera refurbished for $1319 so that would mean that the discount went from 20% down to less than 10%.

That is a great question. I didn't look at the math until just now. Maybe some reps are having a bad day?

It is pretty strange how one person calls and gets one price and the next person calls and gets another price. I ordered my this morning and I paid the $1087 price. If you are going to order one I would just keep calling back tell you get the $1087 price. Good luck to all that are trying to buy one.

What is the average amount of exposures you 7D buyers are getting when your cameras come in?

The file number was 0 on mine, but there's no available software for the public to confirm the total shutter count (actuation) on the 7D w/o sending the body into Canon. My camera did arrive looking brand spanking new. See previous posts, many have commented on this already.

I believe the file number resets when you use a different CF or SD card.

Just ordered my first DSLR, a T1i kit for 519.64 after Texas tax. I'm attempting to reset my password so that I may log in to my account, but the page is giving me an error. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've used EOSInfo to obtain the shutter count for my cameras in the past.

my shutter count was either at 12 or 14...I forget.

On specifically the 7D -

There's a count saved in the battery info which is the number of shots that were recorded for that charge. Once the battery is recharged that counter resets back to zero.

The other counter is the sequential file number for each IMG _xxxx. saved to a memory card. That counter can manually be reset to zero in the menu system.

The actual shutter count (ie. the exact number of clicks on the shutter) can only be obtained by Canon - which is not free service.

EOSInfo software does NOT support the 7D. It also does not support the T1i.

i just called again and the rep said $1,119 plus tax for the 7D. i had her repeat that three times to make sure i heard her correctly. better than the $1,199 from yesterday. that is really strange how the pricing is jumping all around. maybe they are reading the computer screen incorrectly.

just called again and this time i was quoted $1,119.20. inflation of $0.20.

There is some serious crack smoking at Canon regarding the price differences... I keep trying to get the one that says "yes sir, the 5d mk ii is back on for $1087."

Did you purchase it through the Canon Loyalty Program? You could always call them and tell them you can't log in..

Lol... The name of the game is to call a few times... See what happens.. I made up my mind (I think) and I'm just going to wait for the 5d mk ii refurb to go back on the CLP list and forego the 7d...
