I need a camera bag to store my canon rebel xs with the kit lens on. I plan to buy a 50mm f1.8 lens as well. I will be putting a flower lens hood in as well, but it doesn't have to be on the camera.

I found this bag http://cgi.ebay.com …619148&fromMakeTrack=true (external link)

It is 9.0" wide, 4.73" deep and 6.70" high. Is this big enough?

Edit: The dimensions of this bag are very similar to the Canon 2400 Digital Camera Bag (9-1/2"W x 7"H x 6"D)

Hard to say, because what else will you want to carry?
By all appearances, the bag you linked should do the job.
It looks very similar to the Loewpro Nova series, which you
may be able to check out in local stores before you make a
purchase decision.

Actually, choosing a bag can be a long process.
There are plenty of good reasons a lot of us around here have several bags,
primarily due to differing needs for various events/conditions/gear.

Of course I'm all right! Why? What have you heard?!?

I have a bag that I use right now. Its a top loading one that the camera slides into, lens down. It has two small pouches on the sides to store extra batteries etc.

I am looking for something bigger because I am getting a lens hood and I know that wont fit. I do plan to get the 50mm lens like I mentioned, so I know Id need a bigger bag. I just dont want something huge like the bags that they sell in the Canon starter kits!

I'd still suggest checking out options at local stores, if possible.
It's a great way to see what's available out there, and you can easily
find something comparable on ebay after you find something you like.

Nonetheless, the bag you linked to seems a great price.
I'd go even further, looking for a seller who offers free or lower shipping charges.

Check out the Lowepro classified 140 or 160 as well as others this dealer carries . They are based in Stratford ON and the shipping is free . They carry lots of other stuff too .
Company is actually Carman Foto Source . I have purchased a couple items from them and no problems .

To be honest with you, I really like this bag because of the colour. It looks protective and have nice size side pockets as well....but the colour really sold me :)

Well colour aside buy with your head and not your heart . You are purchasing something to protect your camera and lens as well as your accessories , battieries , CF cards...etc . You want to have enough room plus a bit to grow with and you also want something that will last . I don't feel the Canon bag is a wise choice but you decide . Yes something like I'm suggesting here http://cgi.ebay.com …kid%3D6329711733392602536 (external link) might cost a bit but between this one and the larger 160 classified AW these would work well for you and keep your gear safe .

Good luck with your choice .
