This is a great free stand-alone sharpener. Reiterations, edge>whole image slider, halo and artifact suppression slider, supports 16 bit, sharpens Luminousity (Intensity) channel only, internal calculations in 32 bit depth, copy/paste, batch.

Yes, the Noiseware Community Edition (external link) is free and FAST, FAST, FAST. A 13mpix from my 5d takes 2 to 3 minutes using Neatimage on a P4-2800 with 1 gig of ram and striped raptors. With Noiseware it takes 10 to 15 seconds.

Scroll down to the middle of the page for the Community Edition.

This app rules!! verypowerful for being free.

Rad... thanks for posting the 'unlocker' download!

I've been having problems with that , and I never imagined that there was a program to help.

Much appreciated!!

I'll add a couple more since quick thread search didn't find them:

[These are windows only I think.]

EasyGPS -
http://www.easygps.com/ (external link)
For Downloading Tracks from my GPS

Geosetter -
http://www.geosetter.de/en/ (external link)
For syncing those tracks with my images, and embedding Geotag (lat, long, Country, State, City keywords) directly into my image file (including RAW.) Which is then recognized by programs like Lightroom and Flickr to display photo locations on a map. (Lightroom opens webpage for Google Maps.)

Microsoft Pro PhotoTools:
http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/downloads/tools.aspx (external link)
Also for geotagging, I started using Geosetter because it could embed to RAW. Since I last tried it, and requested this feature, it appears MS has added support for writing to the RAW files also. May try it out again in the future.

Since someone brought this thread back to life, let me re-remind everyone of my new favorite. A member of another forum recommended a program called FileBox eXtender (external link). A program to allow you to quickly navigate to a different folder (user defined favorites and recent) when saving without having drill up and down through layers and layers of nested folders. According to their website:

FileBox eXtender™ - keep favorite folders at your fingertips - free software for everyone. Navigate easily through the Windows folder maze with its “favorites” and “recently accessed” buttons added to standard Windows File Open, File Save dialog boxes and Explorer folders. With these buttons you can access your favorite and recently visited folders and documents with one mouse click.

More info and screen-shots in THIS THREAD

Doesn't seem to work with 40D files...

But in any event, Raw Therapee is the kiddy.
