Another vote for Irfanview. The batch processing it is JUST amazing for resizing and watermarking with text. I wish the had a more flexible watermark feature for insertin jpg watermarks.

ExposurePlot

ExposurePlot (external link) allows you to generate statistics from the EXIF data of your images to see which are your most commonly used....

- Shutter Speeds;
- Apertures;
- ISOs;
- Focal Lengths;

and produce graphs of the results.

That's a great program, but it only works on JPEGS, not RAW.:cry:

True, but don't all your raw files (that have value to you) end up as JPEG files anyway?

I only ever shoot raw, but anything I want to keep always gets converted to JPEG for display on my HDTV. I simply set the program to scan my converted JPEG output folders rather than my original raw input folders.

As for the raws, if you use Lightroom, as I do, you can get basic stats on ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed, but not Focal Length, simply by opening the Metadata filter from the Library and selecting suitable columns. You can add further filters, such as date ranges or camera type or even serial number, to fine tune the precision of your data analysis.

Here's an example screen print....

I know it has been mentioned in previous years, but Picasa 3, has had some amazing changes, the retouch tool and enhanced collage tool are Great. Not to mention the ability to create HTML pages. (Right Click Folder, export to HTML)

And FAST.

Some free stuff I use all the time:

DIM (external link) - Importing images

BRU / BRC (external link) - Renaming files

ImgBurn (external link) - Quick CD/DVD burn

Recuva (external link) - Recover lost files (hopefully not too often :) )

XnView (external link) - Image browser and viewer

ExifTool GUI (external link) - GUI for the free ExifTool (external link)

Wiki on a Stick (external link) - Self contained Wiki

Will be looking at some of the other suggestions.

Regards

BobN
