It's probably too late to change my order, hence it is being ship to my address.
But.. Has anyone here ever bought a refurbished DSLR? If so, any regret? Any issues?
What do I look for when testing my camera?
Sorry, I am new to DSLR and would appreciate your help.

as long it come with a warranty then you're ok. test for functionality, check the sensor and lens (if included) for any smudge, scratches and such. Of course take some test shots! If all pass without any problems, then enjoy your first wonderful dslr.

My previous camera (which I still have) is a refurbished 350D/XT I bought on Ebay. I've had it about 4 years and it still works fine. The only problem I've ever had with it is that for whatever reason it will not download directly to my computer using the USB cable, which may not be the camera's fault in any event.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

I bought a refurbished 50D.....and it was brilliant! I've replaced it with a 5D2 now, but while I had it, it was fault free and indistiguishable from new. Relax....you'll love it!! ;-)a

I've had my refurbished 50d for over 18 months without any problems whatsoever.

My friend bought a refurb 50D and it looked EXACTLY like new. She's put tens of thousands of clicks on it since with no problems.

Enjoy your new beast!

It might be that I'm a bit of an OCD perfectionist type, but I always buy new. There is something about refurbished stuff that makes me nervous. Especially with optics.. P.S. W510 is enroute in the UPS system, Kiwi!!!!!!

i had very bad luck with a refurbished 40D.

canon eventually fixed everything wrong with it, but it took several trips to the repair center.

not even mentioning that the price was within 150 dollars of a new 50D on amazon--and that canon charges sales tax on its refurbished cameras. it's a waste of money.

Thanks everyone. The camera is to be arrived today, so I will test it out and will post pics and issue(hopefully none). I have bought refurbished items before, just that I am new with DSLR.

I got a refurbished 50D from Canon, and it was basically brand new. Couldn't be happier.

I have the same story - mine looked brand new - other than the little sticker there is no way you'd ever know it was a refurbed unit - its been great for me.

Adorama is one place I know that sell refurbed bodies regularly. I got mine from the Canon loyalty program

They aren't cameras that were used for a while and then broke. They are cameras that wouldn't turn on in the first place, went back to the factory, and were fitted with the proper part to make them turn on.

I've never heard any negatives at all.

Thank you. bw!

Here is my day one pics with my refurbished 50D. (untouched)
I think the problem is my dirty contact lenses and is causing these images to be out of focus.
