I have to first thank the members on POTN for all of their support and informative advice. I learned a lot since I joined and applied them to my first ever photoshoot. Needless to say, I need A LOT of improvement.

Marlen is my friend's co-worker and she needed a 3/4 body portrait and some head shots for jobs she will be applying for. I volunteered to do her pictures because I know this will be a great learning experience for me. She was awesome to work with and definitely photogenic! Definitely made my job easier. I was probably more nervous than she was.

I don't have too much portrait gear. I used my 70-200mm 90% of the time with my 430EX attached. I don't have any wireless flash gear yet.

Please let me know what I can improve for next time: composition, lighting, colors, etc. Thank you!

These are really nice, not much I would change except for get a more pleasing angle on number 5 - coming from below or at eye level might work better. Lighting is really smooth for a single, on camera flash

I like them all but 5 & 8 aren't on the same level.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't really notice I was framing inconsistently. I was trying all kinds of angles because I didn't know what would turn out the best. I guessed when I kneel down to take the picture (like in #8) the background seems more pleasing?

How much of the background should I include when framing for a full body portrait shot?

Lighting all looks good to me. All the full body shot's her face appears OOF. The head shots look pretty sharp. Looking good, just work on getting some sharp body shots.

On the full body shots, I agree with dwarrenr. Everything else looks really good. #6 is my fav...would love to see it in color.
