Hello,

I have the Canon G3 Powershot. Since yesterday sometimes I get the Error message E52 on my Camera when I shoot pictures. The G3 puts out itself and shows me incorrect JPEG formats.

I never get that error before. What can I do? The camera is two years old and I have no chance to send it to canon for repair.

The canon Mail Support doesn't answere me.

I hope you can help me to solve that problem

Hi,
I had a look in my G3 booklet and it's not very helpful! It says if the err message persists take the camera for servicing, a bit obvious that statement. The only other thing I can think to tell you, is try reformatting the CF card and maybe reset the camera back to default settings. If you've set up some custom functions you may have confused the camera somehow. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Roger.

Hello Roger,

thank you for your help. You are right, the manual isn't very helpful. I think it's not recommended to send the camera to the service - my camera is too old.

I tested different Compact Flash Cards - Kingston - Sandisc and the Canon Flash Disk.

I cannot remember that I changed something in the configuration menue, but I will try another configuration. But I believe in a defect of the camera.

But I will try to fix the error myself before I throw it through the window :-)
