this display was lit from underneath, so you couldn't see any details of the model without blowing out the 'football field'...

so I thought I would give HDR a shot to see if I could get a better picture.

I like it - at first I thought it was one of those "neon" HDRs you see sometimes, but it's really not on closer inspection. The complex red area behind is distracting, however, and detracts from the model - I wonder if you could have gone to a shorter DOF and smoothed it out?

that red thing is a mock up of the old skylab... I suppose I could always fuzz it out a bit with photoshop. I think I shot this wide open, so there isn't much more I could do :(
