Are their brands I should stay away from. Can someone recommend a cheap battery on ebay? I want 1 or 2 more batteries for when I go out and see the world on the weekends and I don't want to buy a terrible brand.

I have two Opteka batteries that came with the Opteka grip. Both seems to work ok so far.

tvphotog Cream of the Crop More info | Aug 18, 2010 13:57 | #6 When you spend $600 on a camera and more on a lens, I would recommend that you get the best batteries you can afford, not the cheapest. There will be those who claim that batteries are batteries and that they're all made in China anyway, but I would let a Google search on battery problems be your guide. Jay
