Hello!
I have one of the Manfrotto 1004BAC Quick Stack stands. I am planning on purchasing another but was curious if anyone can confirm or deny if the quick stack system will work between their different stand sizes?

Basically - if I have the 1004BAC (external link) right now and purchase the 1005BAC (external link) - will they be able to connect together or does the Quick Stack System only work with with stands of the same model?

Thanks for the input!
Erik

I have no idea but I'd like to know too.

It looks like Manfrotto has changed the design of the stand slightly from the stackers I bought a few years ago. I only have one size, but generally when you stack them together there is a slight "lip" or ledge on the bottom that the second one sits on. Next at the midpoint there is a rubber strap with an eyehole that you stretch over a rivet on the first stand.

Since the rivet from one stand has to line up with the strap from the first, I can't see (in my minds eye- they are in the closet downstairs) how two different size stands would meet at the midpoint or "hip" to make the straps connect.

HTH.
