I thought it was kind of a neat idea.

It's a "no words (external link)" forum (photo sharing). Somebody starts a thread (subject) and people post pics with no text other than exif. Just imagine: no arguments!

Well there is nothing that stops you from starting a thread yourself and just write in the post how you would like the thread to go.

Appreciate the reply, Tommy, but you can't be serious! :) ;)

Thru experience you know that if a thread is started requesting "no words", eventually it will turn into a conversation about hamburgers, shoes, and an argument about how Ken Rockwell is responsible for the gulf oil spill!

The only way it would work is if the forum name itself was something like "Pics with no words."

No I am serious. I do not see such a forum created. Even if such a forum was created that is NO guarantee that what you describe won't happen. Yeah I know what your answer is "then moderators just clean up". Well I think moderators have plenty to do as it is.

Anyway to even get a chance of getting a forum like that you would need to start with what I suggested because as we have said many times. New forums are only created when the amount of threads justify the need for a new specialized forum.

Agree with tommy here... so what's keeping you from trying to creating a Thread with no words? try it. it might become successful.

I would like to see it. Personally, I don't think it's possible around here. Oh, and Ken Rockwell didn't start the oil spill, but he had a vision about it.

You won't know unless you try it. You gotta give forum members a little bit of credit but if you don't even want to give it a try then you will have a REALLY tough time convincing the mod/admin team that we need a dedicated forum for this.

I don't think we really need a dedicate forum for this, but I think several threads would be nice. Perhaps a particular theme to kick things off would be great.

Most of the Lens Archive threads are this way. When folks are "showcasing," there isn't a whole lot of discussion to be done...

"Show Me" threads tend to be less chatty than average as well...
