Hey Everyone!

They recently built a Motocross track just a couple minutes up the road from my house. I love bikes, never really got a chance to shoot this sorta stuff before. What do you think? Anything I can do to make my shots better?

Those look good out of the camera. I would crop tighter and use the rule of thirds.

Cheers... jim

I think #2 is the best of the bunch, what a fantastic backdrop. If it were framed off center it would be even better. Think rule of thirds, especially on the wide angle shots.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback! I will be shooting Motocross a lot more now that the track is open. I will keep in mind the rule of thirds from here on out!

Thanks again!

I like the wide shots especially with the background you have there, #4 is a good panning shot. Try some shots with the bike filling the frame and do some verticals when the action is coming at you.

You've got a good eye for the action too. Your pics compliment the rider. Nice work.

Thank you! I wish I had a few more mm's of focal length to work with. I used my 1D2 with a 70-200 F4L.

That's the lens I use too. I love it. Are you allowed on the track where you're at?

I agree with others.......tighter crops, just think in thirds....or be creative/different with your crops. These pictures look fine otherwise....and you have a good shutter speed also, since you captured some good wheel blur.

I think the jumping shots are great. Maybe a bit of cropping like the others have said, but the shots themselves look good.

But for the berm/on-ground shots, try and get a little closer. That would really make for some sick shots.
