Hey all :)

Just wanted to share my awesome news! I've been a long term Pentax user and really, Pentax wasn't doing it for me anymore .. So I'm a proud switcher.

I see people post their Canon images and get very jealous. The colour, sharpness and everything is beautiful.

So after a little research, I bought myself a 55OD with twin lens. It's still on layby but should be able to bring it home within the week.

I'm trying to find some good books that explain ISO, exposure and the likes so I can get the most out of my Canon. I was told Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is a good start?

Look forward to sharing some photos in a week or so and learning as much as possible to do with the 55OD :D

Yes I've heard a lot of good things about the Peterson book.

But Twin lenses? I'm hoping you don't mean literally, or identical.

Understanding Exposure is a great book to really pull together everything that impacts exposure. Highly recommend the book even if you already know about aperture, shutter speed and ISO. He also goes into different metering methods to help get the shot you want.

Welcome aboard!

Don't discount all the resources you have in the forums. Books are great--some more than others--but the advice you get here is invaluable (and free); granted it's easier to pack a book in your kit bag than POTN. Do some word searches for the topics you're interested in. My interests are dance recitals, indoor sports and cheerleading. I learned more here than from perusing any book or magazine.
