Looking into playing with a background. I don't have a studio, so are there any collaspible or mobile background setups? I don't need anything too crazy as I just want to try it out and use it for fun. Something seamless?

look up wescott collapsable backgrounds on B&H. they sell around $75 and up.

Seamless paper would qualify for crazy as it is not very transportable.

For portable backgrounds three choices come to mind -

Seamless paper (or seamless vinyl) - comes on rolls 53", 109" or 144" wide and can be cut down if needed. You can suspend it from anything that can hold a rod - background kits often use light stands and a rod with holes to fit on top of them. You could also use hoooks from the wall or ceiling.

Muslin - basically a big piece of fabric. I haven't used these so I don't know what the mounting options are - I would assume you could clamp them in place. Perhaps some would have a pocket along the edge to insert a pole?

Collapsable background - like the collapsable reflectors only bigger. I think these are available in sized up to 6'x6'. I'm not sure if these are self-supporting (lean them against a wall) or if they require holders. I think these are available in a very limited number of colors (as opposed to seamless or muslins).

If you have a way to support it, I think seamless is the cheapest + least amount of maintenence required. If the paper gets dirty or wrinkled, cut it off and pull out more.

While more expensive, muslins can have a very nice look straight from the camera. They're available in multiple tones, designs, etc. I understand that they're prone to wrinkling and they're somewhat expensive.

The 53" rolls are not that hard to manage and work well for head+shoulders shots.

If I fold the back seat down, I can get 2 rolls of 9' seamless in my Accord - they run between the driver and passenger seat and come just short of the dashboard. Somewhat of a pain but manageable. I would assume it wouldn't be too bad in a minivan/SUV.
