Those people announced 5D2. They work in Canon. I trust them

I guess the 50D/550D will rule the sub $1K market for a while.

I hope so, the 50D is looking better and better,at the moment I don't see anything to get excited about on the 60D, lets hope it has a lot more to offer than the info that's been available so far.
I personally don't want video, and I don't see a need for a flip out screen., but I will still wait to see what the 60D has to offer.

Brian

Depends on budget it is fitting into. Some people will think the 7D is only a little more, others will think that it's a big difference in price.

I think the 60D can be a real winner in the marketplace. It looks to me like the right mix of "better than a Rebel but easier to carry than a 7D."

That's roughly $1286....which is only about $250 less then 7D at my favorite online store. Then again assuming the 60D sales online for $200 less then what Canon wants, it'll be about $300 more than the T2i....which sort of put's the 60D in the middle then.

In my opinion if Canon's smart, they 1st really drive home the video features in this camera (and that means more then a moving screen) in order to create differentiation. Then 2nd, Canon should (assuming it's a cutting edge video-slr) drop the XXD line and thus not call this camera a 60D, but something new in order eliminate comparisons between previous models.

Because, in the end...a $250 price difference is nothing (I don't even own lenses for that cheap), and if the camera dose not offer more video features then the screen itself & it's called the 60D (assuming thus it's an upgrade for current 50D photographers), then I think a lot of XXD shooters will jump to the 7D in disappointment. However, if canon really pushes the video features and develops a new line / new name....I think this camera will do well. It'll fill a void in the market.

this camera better be a real performer. i'll be real pissed if it's just canon's pricepoint placeholder. when a new rebel comes out (rebel seems to come out every year) the 60D is gonna be worthless.
