I have two option to go with
Canon 17-85 or sigma 18-125 which has OS and HSM features.
Now I'm not sure which one is better in every aspect.
If you were me, which one would you prefer and why ?

It's a lens that people love to slam, but it's been good to me. I would imagine that the Sigma 18-125 is probably on par with the 17-85 optically. There are other and better options out there, but between those two, too close to call.

Certain aspects there not fantastic - colours & distortion, for example - but overall the sharpness was quite good, the IS worked well, and it can be had very cheap.

Seen reviews that say this too. also keh sells it for more than they used to. So you might look for one of these. They add elements for os so the 18-125 os may be different.
