Good enough because you say it is? Once again showing one shot taken with that camera doesnt prove in any way that its fast enough. My slow 5D can get one shot if I hit the button at the right time. Obviously some shooters dont get what they want at rebel frame rates, claiming that because you got a shot so thats enough is pointless.

FPS in wildlife photography is crucial. Unlike sports where there is a certain amount of predictability, many times with wildlife things happen randomly. You want to be able to get several decent shots of the action. The only way to do that is with faster FPS. My XSi was not adequate for my wildlife photography. My new 50D is.

but that FPS seems to be good enough !

the XSi (450D) has no problems with a 3.7 FPS rate

Shame you didn't have something with a faster frame rate so you could have taken the next frame, where the ball is on the racquet. ;)

Seriously though, you do not need a high frame rate for a sport like tennis. You are better off using single shot and learning how to time the shots right so you can get images with the ball just where you want it. Baseball and most other sports are the same way.

For motorsports the fast shutter is great. On the 7D in high speed continuous it's easy enough to just give quick presses so you only get a couple shots per press and when you see a crash happen you can press and hold to get the entire sequence.

Wildlife, especially birds, are where the frame rate is really nice to have.

Yes, the fastest Rebel can now shoot about5.9 frames per second. It's called the 60d

Thank you. bw!

I shoot birds multiple days a week, and am very glad that I have 9 fps at my disposal. The current Rebels have great IQ, but I wouldn't want to limit myself to shooting unpredictable, constantly-moving birds like chickadees or nuthatches (or hummingbirds in flight) at 3.7 fps. I'd still get some nice shots, but would miss out on quite a few as well.

3.7 FPS on a Rebel is good -

cheap Rebel XSi (450D) with the super cheap Canon 55-250IS -
