I've been asked to do some editorial work for a local magazine. My cousin who is a photo stylist recommended ASMP for help with Licensing, release, and any other legal forms.
Are any of you members of ASMP and what help do you get? If Im not going to use it I dont want to pay membership fees.

Thanks!

Like any organization, you get out of it what you put into it. If you are just looking for licensing, releases and legal forms, you can find those examples on POTN.

I am a past member of ASMP, it does have it's merits and I enjoyed my time there. It is a very good organization that promotes professional photography. If you are able to attend meetings it has the added benefit of meeting other photographers in your field. Attending lectures by well known photographers such as the guy in my sig for one, although I'm not sure Jay is still on the circuit.

Here's a link that explains things better than I can: http://asmp.org/benefits-update (external link)

If you're in NE Texas the nearest chapter is in Dallas, some meetings are open to non members for a small fee. At least that's how most chapters operate.
