A few iso 12800 pics with my 50D in a dark livingroom with only a couple of dim lights and the TV on. Not great pics, but it´s iso 12800:)

Daniel not much banding thats very surprising, I have not really done any H2 tests yet but compared to what Ive seen those are very clear!

Well I was a bit surpriced too. There are some detail loss but In emergencies I might use iso 12800. I overexposed the pics a little and also shot in RAW.

I don´t think the iso capabilities on the 50D is so bad that some people say.

Best regards/Daniel

I am going to give it a whirl tonight when I get out of work. I am interested now.

Yeah do so. Post your results when your done. Try to expose both correct and a little to the right and see if you notice any difference. I noticed some difference.

Looking forward to see your results.

Best regards/Daniel

Great pics, cute lil' gal! They look to have a quite a bit of noise removal, there are no facial details or blanket details, but hard to tell with small images. Did you use NR afterwards or have your noise reduction in camera set to strong, and used DPP to convert to JPG?

Agreed. In a day when most views are online and most viewers (outside of this forum) wouldn't notice or care, the results are surprisingly worthy of eg. emailing to grandma.

Thanks! Glad you liked them. Yeah, there are some detail loss due to NR. I shot in Raw and used NR afterwards. Used only photoshop to convert from raw and for noice reduction I used Nik Dfine.

Best regards/Daniel

I don't have a lot of images at this ISO but I did find this one. Obviously some PP done on it (selective NR and other stuff like levels etc).

Oh, and I know I didn't need to shoot at this ISO with 1/1600's but I was shooting indoor agility experimenting with the high ISO and turned around and snapped a photo of this dogging standing next to me.

Here it is SOOC. I had to pump up the chrominance and luminance reductions in DPP to 20 to get this. I guess its not that bad for H2. I thought there would be much more banding.

Not bad at all. Guess we could use 12800 in emergencies then;)
