These two photos were taken indoors under low light. Processed in LR3 and corrected for noise.

No PP. All noise reductions setting off. No sharpening. Taken by light of one table lamp at night. I love the low light capabilities of this camera.

I'll play.

1st shot is ISO 25600 on a 5D Mark II, ETTR by +1.67 (to push the histogram right up to the right) in camera and then brought back to 0 in ACR. No noise reduction in ACR or photoshop, slight unsharpmask. 100% crop.

2nd shot is ISO 6400, no messing with exposure, no noise reduction in ACR or photoshop, slight unsharpmask. 100% crop.

The 25600 shot loses some contrast and colour saturation. Other than that, there's not much in it.

I was expecting more from a 5dmk2 to be honest, i thought there would be a lot less noise strait out of the camera

The 5Dii is very good up to and including 3200. 6400 requires a little work but is very usuable.

I'm not sure what you're expecting? Im actually very impressed with the 25600 noise, especially with no noise reduction done.

I dont know, i always have a vision in my mind that the 5d's are the perfect cameras and can do no wrong... this is because i only have a 400d :( lol

Well, it's far from perfect but it is very good. It allows you to shoot 3200 with barely a thought about image noise. I've made A1 prints of iso 3200 shots and noise is imperceptible. ISO 6400 is very usuable with a little preparation and pp work, and as you can see from this thread, the camera will deliver all the way up to 25600. What's not to be impressed about! :)

A bit more exposure might have helped noticeably.

I had just been taking action shots and forgot I was at ISO 12,800:

ISO 12,800 pushed 2/3rds of a stop in DPP

This is the best underexposed-by-three-stops photo I can find from my Digital Rebel:
