Hi everybody!
Now I'm FF : 5D, and I have 70-200mm f4 is, 85mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8...so I need something wide, but not extrawide.
My first idea is canon 17-40mm f4, (but on ff I think it would be too wide to me...or a lens is never too wide?) or I'm thinking about taking tamron 28-75mm, selling my 85mm and take 100mm macro L... So I would have:

- Canon 5d
- Tamron 28-75mm f 2.8
- Canon 70-200mm f4 is L
- Canon 100mm f2.8 macro IS L

Or
- Canon 5d
- Canon 17-40mm f4 L
- Canon 70-200mm f4 is L
- Canon 85mm 1.8

Which one?

Thanks

17-40, a 50 prime (whichever you like, and the 70-200 L.

what do you shoot? You mint find the 40 too short for general things. I personally would, just depends on what you shoot.

My camera loves Vivitar Series 1 19-35mm. The 28-75 isn't bad for landscapes either:

I think canon 17-40mm could be my solution...now I need to decide if it's better a 85mm or 50mm prime

It's not a bad idea...

For the price of a 17-40L you could get a Tamron or Sigma such as the 17-35, 15-35, AND the 28-75.

Depends on what you shoot. Remember, 85mm is what you had at 50mm before and 50mm is what you had at 35mm before (give or take a few mm).

I know , probably for what I shoot I would prefer something from 24-28mm... but canon 24-70 mm is too expensive...tamron 28-75mm could be the solution but I don't know the quality of this lens and if the af is too slow... the alternative could be canon 35mm f2...

The 28-75mm is known to have almost equal IQ to the Brick..but yes it's AF is in no way on par. Does it matter for still subjects? Not so much. I know guys that shoot concerts that use it, it's fast enough.. In low light the Brick hunts too, it just does it more silently :) I know, I use both. The Tammy is mine, the Brick belongs to the studio I work at. I prefer the af speed of the brick, but for the cost of the Tammy it really can't be beat.

If you want examples of what the tammy can do on the 5d2 I have samples :)

i think that the 17-40+70-200 combo is good, but would suggest a prime in between. perhaps a 50mm 1.4? or the 85mm 1.8 if you liked the 50mm lenses on crop. Unless you really need/want that 100mm macro.

I'd go for the second 5D bundle and add the canon 50 1.4 to the mix. That'd be a great set

I am currently running 19-35mm, 28-75mm, 80-200mm and primes at 24mm and 50mm.
