I'm not sure if I am missing something here or or is Adobe ?

In ACR 6.2 if you select "Save Image"......You can batch process the files: rename, convert, what about resize ??

In CS5 you can select the "image processor" and convert, resize, but not batch rename.

In PS Elements you can rename, convert, and resize from the image processor

DPP you can rename, convert, and resize from the image processor

I know you can create an action to use with the batch processor in PS to resize but why not have a simple solution as well, or is there and I'm just not finding it ?

Just my own thoughts -

DPP sort of has it's own organizer built in for dealing with files and browsing files. Elements does also - those file type operations seem to be handled by the applications with Browsers/Organizers built into them.

I always felt that Bridge was the organizer part of PS - and it has all that missing functionality. ACR is just a fancy PS plugin so I don't really count that as separate from PS either

If you want to do it all in ACR you have to set your aCR settings to the desired image size -- click the little blue link below the image to set the size and the color space (such as sRGB for Web use).

From Bridge the Image Processor actually should do what you want -- I don't recall the naming conventions, though. You may need to name your images in advance to converting them, but I'm not sure of that.

Didn't see those settings at the bottom, that helps but it sure would be nice to be able to specify a particular size. Thanks !!

Bridge has a batch rename option under tools which is very nice to have, just wish it could all be done under one window.

Actually, what I would really like to be able to do in CS5 is rename files sequentially one at a time. In the batch processor, if you select "all open files" it processes all the files open in the editor, I would like to process just the picture that I am working on.

Any ideas on how to do that ?

Thanks

I checked out his 1-2-3 process but is doesn't appear to rename files.

I think that is what I need though, a plug-in or a script that can batch re-name files one at a time.

Rename before you try to save them. Keeping consistent image names is valuable, renaming is a critical step in my workflow.

It would be nice if ACR could save to whatever size you want.

My problem is a bit more complicated than that.

I'm coping and pasting my images onto a pre-made border and the file takes on the name of the background layer, the border. I can do "save as" for each one but I am trying to automate the process with an action.

There are a few other angles I can take like pasting the border on the picture but that's a bit more complicated and I haven't figured that out yet.
