Canon G12 - sensor and video

I don't think anyone has answered your original question. CCD stands for Charged Coupled Device. Most point and shoot cameras use a CCD sensor and a few DSLR's use CCD sensors. Almost all if not every Canon DSLR's I'm aware of use CMOS sensors. CCD vs CMOS

Thanks, I just ordered my LX5. I just don't understand the G11/12. I would think they can do more with that big of a body instead you actually get a faster lens on the tiny S90. Either way neither have 24 2.0 so the LX5 was an easy choice.

While the S90 has a faster seven element lens, it is inferior in all other respects to the eleven element G11 lens.

Maybe its a better lens but I would still expect a bit more out of a camera that big.
