I recently acquired a Pro1 and I've been doing some shooting in RAW. The jpg preview images seem extremely small in resolution and its hard to tell if my shots are in focus or not when I review them on the camera's LCD. The G6 that I had allowed the user to set the jpg preview image for RAW all the the way up to the max resolution. Is it possible to set this on the Pro1 or am I stuck with 640x480 preview images? I didn't see anything in the manual....

I recently started using my Pro1 in RAW format but have since reverted back to jpg format. Like you said, you can't tell if the shot is any good.

One question I have not found anywhere in the manual is whether the ISAPS image optimiser works on RAW images (It shouldn't really). And is this a feature you can turn off?

Whilst on the subject of RAW - I use the supplied PhotoEX software. How can you convert the raw image to a jpeg of the same resolution. The convert tool asks you for a DPI setting rather than a final image size.

Too many questions for this topic - I'd better stop.

regards

Tony

I don't have a Pro 1. But from the review I read about this camera, I though one used the "Canon Raw Task" program to convert RAW images. I wonder, would digital photo professional read Pro1 files. If you could put one online. I will test this out for you!

Thanks David, but I was being blind to the 'save as' button on the preview window when you view a raw image. Too obvious perhaps, but the zoombrowser software is (I find) slightly clumsy. Keep meaning to buy photoshop elements - someday.

Thanks all the same.

Photoshop Elements can't deal with Canon raw images. But you might care to have a look at this (external link) on the Canon site. It's much better than what is shipped with your camera.

Hoof Hearted - Photoshop Elements deals with Canon RAW Images. I have a 20 D and work with RAW files every day.

Good luck.

I have a 10D. When I try to open one of my Raw files, Elements expects a .RAW extension. My 10D produces files with a .CRW extension. Am I missing something here?

Hoof Hearted - You need to have Photoshop Elements 3.0 cause this version deals
with RAW files from my 20 D and other camera's. These files have a CR2 extension.
Photoshop Version 2.0 don't deal with RAW files, if I remember correctly.
On the Adobe website you can have a look witch camera's are supported in
dealing with RAW files of camera's. Good luck.
