Im in teh midst of rearranging my kit. I should have left well enough
alone, but didn't. Anyways, I will have by the end of the week
a 1ds2 and 1d2. As mentioned prior I want a video body. I thinking to ditch the 1d2 and pick up a 7d for its AF and FPS and video mode. opinions?

Depending on your budget..the 5DII would be great. If thats a little much for what you want to do, the 7D is very capable as well.

The 5dm2 will do better indoors if you're shooting weddings in low light.

How are you going to get stills and video at the same time?

Thank you. bw!

I actually had a 5d2, I traded it for the 1ds2 for AF. I do video as well,
and want to start incorporating dslr video into my work.

When I was a motion picture photographer (for those unacquainted with the term, "motion pictures" - that was video that used film LOL); I found that I couldn't effectively shoot both motion pictures and film of the same event. Either the MOPIX or the still coverage would suffer if I tried.

Video for weddings is incredablty difficult and needs (IMO) a ton of kit and people.

People are used to very high quality video which is hard to acheive and very expensive to do (in comparison to good stills).

Its also very time consuming to edit, how do you plan to make money with it?

I'm already there, but since I do both (not at the same time) i wanted to add dslr to my kit since
i already have glass. Some of the work wedding filmmakers are doing with the 5d2 and 7d is flat out sick.

Taken with just a 5dm2 and 7d.

Check it out if you get the time.

I'm not doubting the quality just the cost to get the quality and process it vs what the average wedding couple is willing to pay.

If your work pays then good for you.

Loose the 1ds2 and get the 5D2 if your budget can take it, then you keep FF and the speed of the 1.3x
