It's been over 20 years since I've been to an air show. Last time I went I was a kid. My first time taking photos of planes and such so C&C welcomed.

Nice shots. Would love to see that first one in the flesh, but not much chance.

Haha, yeah, it's the last surviving prototype (out of a total of 3 built). The Northrop "Wing". If you ever make it out to California (southern California), be sure and head on out to "Planes of Fame" in Chino, CA. That's where the "Wing" is based out of. Most of the WWII birds that came out flew in from that airport/museum.

Haha, yeah, I didn't know how rare all these have become these days. Didn't know prior to the show that we're down to the last Flying Wing and didn't realize how few of the P-38's are still air worthy. Else I would have taken more stills while they were on the ground prior to the show. Next time. (I plan to visit Chino's Planes of Fame museum soon to catch most of them in the hangars during their down time.)

For those who might be interested in seeing the rest (104 photos), here's the link to my album:

Only jet there was the F18 Superhornet and it left shortly after opening the show w/ the silver P-51. We saw the Mitsubishi Zero on display but it wasn't flown yesterday.

Nice shots of the Red Bull helo. I love the treatment on the last one. When did he start using smoke? It really showcases what he's doing with that aircraft.

It really doesn't look like much close up. It's really quite small compared to the flying wing bombers that Northrop built later.
