Hello,
I wrote about a similar problem - my Canon G3 shows me E52 Error - I am surprised about the fact that three cameras (all cameras are the same G3 type) are defect within a few month after warranty end.

I called Canon in Germany and they told me that I have to repair the Camera and send it into the service center. I costs up to 250 Euro (thats like 240$) - too much for such an old camera - I think.

A few friends of me have the same G3 and approximately every second camera shows an Error - all the cameras are out of warranty.

I hope that this is not a plan of canon to force their customers to buy a new camera.
For a one-way product was the price to high.

yeah exactly. the problem mostly occurs either after warranty or because of excessive use of the 'pivot' screen. i was talking to a friend and he said if all the plugs are in position then it could be the wiring inside that could be broken but i was wondering how since the rubber keeps the wires from bending too much. :| someone help!!

Can you view pictures on the LCD? My LCD flickers when in picture taking mode, but works fine when viewing pictures already taken. I had an E24, but now am getting LCD flicker when in picture taking mode. The interference shown on the LCD does show up in the taken picture.
