Being a bit lazy, instead of studying my book, could someone explain how to create an action to apply a small signature icon onto 45 photos. I assume I would start at the 'Automate' menu on CS4.
Also, when the icon is applied, could I then open an image and move the icon to a desired spot, as if it were 'patched' onto the image?
Thanks for any help

There is a recent thread where a member posted a link to a Watermard tutorial (I believe you want a "Watermark") and other members have been contributing. Check out this thread, and if you look at the bottom of the page you will see some helpful links under the "similar threads" section. Also, try doing a forum and Google search for "watermark action" -- you should find a lot of resources that way.

Here is the thread I mentioned:

In support of what Tony has said here, watermarking images is one of the most often asked questions in this forum. There is plenty of information available here and else where on the net. There is many ways to do it and mostly it boils down to personal opinion and what the end user feels most comfortable doing.

I have used the Russell Brown branding video (external link) as a starting point for my actions. I have added quite a few other things to this action but the video explains very well the process for setting this up. I have started this action running on a folder of over 1000 psd files and been able to walk away from the computer knowing full well that it will provide the jpg that I want at the end.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I use the CS5 version of Russell Brown's Watermark Panel. Easy to set up and use. I would not even consider using an Action with thia around. He has a CS4 version but I don;t know how good it is.
